 Please join JAA for a discussion with American Corporate Partners and a Panel of former Judge Advocates who practice as in house counsel in various industries. This no-cost virtual program will be on Tuesday, 21 March 2023, from 1200 to 1400 on Zoom (Eastern Standard Time).

ACP’s free Mentoring Program connects post-9/11 veterans, active-duty spouses and eligible military spouses (Protégés) with corporate professionals (Mentors) for customized mentorships. ACP assists veterans and eligible spouses on their path towards fulfilling, long-term careers, whether the veteran is job searching or newly employed.

Following an introduction to ACP’s Mentoring Program, an esteemed panel will discuss the experience of transitioning from being a judge advocate to practicing as in house counsel in a variety of industries.

Jason Wright shares that his firm (Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP) is hiring a mid-level International Trade Associate or a Counsel for its Economic Sanctions and Export Controls and National Security Law Practice groups.

Jason writes:

“All applicants must submit a resume, law school/LLM transcripts, a writing sample, and a cover letter. Candidates applying for a counsel position must also submit a business plan. Salary starting at $200,000 commensurate with experience. The job location may be either New York or Washington, D.C. Curtis currently supports a hybrid office/remote policy. Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience with the U.S. sanctions laws administered by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), the export control laws administered by the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the U.S. State Department Directorate of Defense Controls (DDDC), and the foreign direct investment controls administered by the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment (CFIUS) and the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Some familiarity with U.S. government and/or U.S. defense contracting experience is a plus.
