JAA ON THE PASSING OF RADM JOHN S. JENKINS, JAGC, USN (RET.)

We are deeply saddened at the Judge Advocates Association to report the passing of RADM John S. Jenkins, JAGC, USN (Ret.). He passed away on Thursday, 23 April 23rd. RADM Jenkins was a former Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Navy. He was for many years the JAA’s Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. In 2002, the JAA recognized RADM Jenkins with its highest honor, the Robinson O. Everett Life Service Award.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, at 1400, at Christ Church in Alexandria, 118 N. Washington Street. In lieu of flowers, the Jenkins family suggests donations to the John S. Jenkins Scholarship, c/o The George Washington University Law School, 2000 H. Street, N.W., Washington, DC, 20052.

Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience with the U.S. sanctions laws administered by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), the export control laws administered by the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the U.S. State Department Directorate of Defense Controls (DDDC), and the foreign direct investment controls administered by the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment (CFIUS) and the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Some familiarity with U.S. government and/or U.S. defense contracting experience is a plus.
